Weston Kiwanis Advances to Silver Level of Impact Circle - 06/25/2017

Kiwanis International recognized the Kiwanis Club of Weston as a Silver Level member of the Impact Circle for achieving a level of net growth since September 30, 2013. President Glenn read the letter from Kiwanis International President Sue Petrisin at the club meeting Saturday, June 24, 2017:

Dear Glenn,

Congratulations to you and all of the members of the Weston Kiwanis Club on earning a Silver level membership in the Impact Circle-a special group of Kiwanis clubs committed to adding more hands and hearts to the service they do. This distinction is part of The Formula's recognition program to celebrate clubs that strengthen their membership and increase their impact on the community.

Kiwanis Presents 2017 Service and Leadership Award to Georgia Burkard and Hunter Burkard - 06/17/2017

Immediate Past President Dawn Egan presented the 2017 Service and Leadership Award to two deserving Weston High School students at the club meeting Saturday, June 17, 2017. Hunter Michael Burkard and Georgia Victoria Burkard are pictured left with their certificates with parents Art and Cathy Burkhard holding the award cups which will be permanently on display in the school.

Weston Women's League Provides Major Funding for Playground - 06/17/2017

Weston Women's League has provided a major gift of support for the Kiwanis Playground at Cesar A. Batalla School. Immediate Past President Dawn Egan displayed a presentation check for $50,500 at the club meeting Saturday, June 17, 2017. The generous gift when added to funding from the Kiwanis Club of Weston and other Division 20 clubs makes the project a financial reality with enhanced features for this, the largest elementary school in Connecticut, one currently without a playground.  The $150,000 playground honors Boston Marathon bombing survivor Victoria McGrath tragically killed in March 2016.
