Benjamin Greenblatt, M.D., chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Norwalk Hospital, will explain the workings of the department and highlight the mass casualty staff training in place.
Before coming to Norwalk Hospital, Dr. Greenblatt was Associate Chairman of Emergency Medicine and Director of the Observation Service/Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC) in New Hyde Park, New York. In addition, he was Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Hofstra-North Shore University Hospital Medical School. Dr. Greenblatt served in a number of administrative roles and academic roles during his 13 year tenure at North Shore-LIJ health System. Dr. Greenblatt’s interest since residency has been in international emergency medicine having lectured globally and having arranged curricula for visiting international physicians.
Dr. Greenblatt earned a BA in Biology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and an MD from UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He also completed his internship and residency training at Bellevue Hospital/New York University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Greenblatt is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
