The Weston Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. is an IRS 501(c)(3) organization with governance documents approved by Kiwanis International February 5, 1996.
Because of its nonprofit status, contributions to the foundation are tax deductible. The foundation enhances the work of the club by supporting projects of higher financial value and longer-term philanthropy. Every member of the Kiwanis Club of Weston is a member of the Weston Kiwanis Club Foundation.
Recent recipients of the generosity of the foundation include the Weston Historical Society, Nursing & Home Care, Inc., Norwalk Hospital and St. Vincent’s Hospital. The foundation also awards scholarships to several Weston high school students annually.
The foundation is governed by a board of directors elected by the membership. The board consists of the officers and the directors. The officers are the president, secretary, and treasurer. The president, secretary, and treasurer serve one-year terms. Four directors serve staggered four-year terms. See the Foundation Leadership page for more information on the current board.
At that meeting, following discussion, the members adopted an amended and restated certificate of incorporation and bylaws. Which now govern the foundation.
