Kiwanis Room at Ronald McDonald House a Reality - 09/13/2017

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The new Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital was dedicated Wednesday, September 13, 2017. The new house was made possible in part by a grant from the Division 20 Kiwanis clubs of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Weston and Wilton (after whom the Kiwanis Room (308)) was named, and the Kiwanis Club of Darien.

Kiwanians at the dedication event include Diana and President Glenn Van Deusen of the Weston Club, Lieutenant Governor Paula Conte (right) and Norwalk Kiwanian Marie Sacco .

Kiwanis Playground at Cesar A. Batalla School Dedicated - 08/26/2017

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Children of Connecticut's largest grade school, and one without a playground for younger students, cut a ribbon today opening the Kiwanis Playground at Cesar A. Batalla School, a project conceived of and driven to completion by the Kiwanis Club of Weston with additional financial support from the Kiwanis Clubs of Norwalk and Bridgeport and other generous benefactors. Weston's Past President Dawn Egan led fund-raising, joined by Past President and Reservoir Run organizer Don Gary, and Reservoir Run organizer Phyllis Gary in the design, contracting, and oversight of construction.

Club Recognized for Newsletter and Public Relations - 08/25/2017

HYANNIS, Mass. — The Kiwanis Club of Weston was recognized for participation in the 2016-2017 Newsletter Award and the Public Relations Award contests at the Kiwanis New England and Bermuda District 99th annual convention today. The awards ribbons will join pervious recognisitions the club has collected and displays on the its banner.

All New England and Bermuda Kiwanis Clubs were encouraged to enter the 2015-2016 Newsletter Awards contest. The rules were simple. Clubs were to e-mail at least two issues of the club’s newsletter to Sharon Binette, editor of the district newsletter Yankiwanian.
